CHRISTIAN LINDBERG SCHEDULE UNTIL 2027
Lindberg´s recording project with Norrköping Symphony Orchestra is slowly going towards completion.
15 symphonies out of 17 has now been recorded, and this week number 11 will be recorded with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. Prizes have been raining over the project that has been called "A historic milestone like Mahler by Bernstein" by the french music journal Resmusica.

Lindberg´s own recording company that he runs together with Per Egland has been a total success. The streams are not in thousands, hundred thousands or millions, but rather 10th of millions. In classical music this must be regarded as no less than sensational, and part of it is the collaboration with their more pop music oriented distributor Aloaded.com
This week Lindberg will be the ton-meister when Pöntinen takes on music by Schubert, and in addition he will also be simultaneously work as trombonist and ton-meister when they record romances by Tchaikovsky as well as encores by famous composers.

Lindberg is back with Dalasinfoniettan, one of Sweden´s major chamber orchestras in an all classical program of Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn.
Together with the European Gramophone artist Tobias Carron, an old friend since the academy in Stockholm, Lindberg has put this program together including Corolian Overture by Bethoven, Haydn Surprice symphony and Mozart concerto for flute and harp.

For 10 years Lindberg was music director of this orchestra bringing them to Musikverein, Concertgebouw, Japan China, Salzburg Festspiel, Beethoven Festival in Bonn, Maarinsky Theatre. Now he is thrilled to be back again in the concert hall "Stormen" in Bodö and Tromsö Culture house.

Las Vegas has on the side of its brutal gambling business actually an amazing environment for THE ARTS. At the Lindberg/Pöntinen 40th anniversary last your Lindberg fell in love with the concert halls and hotels, and now he is embarking on a conducting/recording/soloist.project with the internationally acclaimed UNLV Orchestra.
The project will take place in April 2025 and the concert will include August Söderman The Maid of Orleans Overture, Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet, Rossini Sinfonia, a world premiere of a piece by Dickson and Högstedt "Tribute to Jussi".

Sometime destiny binds people together: Over 40 years ago in the country formerly called Yugoslavia Lindberg met Trond Saeverud, and now they reconnect in the US premiere of Lindberg´s celebrated trombone concerto Golden Eagle.
In April 2025 Lindberg will go twice to the USA for tours and on one of the tours Lindberg visits Heuston, Galveston and Chicago. The main event will be the US premiere of his trombone concerto Golden Eagle with conductor Trond Saeverud.

In his role as CONN/SELMER/STEINWAY artist Lindberg will Make a recital/lecture in the new CONN/SEMER showroom at Michigan Avenue.
At this time Lindberg will also show his new instrument, the CONN-88CL2025. It will come in two versions: one with the sterling silver bell and one with a goldbrass bell.

Berio and Lindberg had a very special relationship. One of Berio´s last pieces was a trombone concerto for Lindberg, and he even wrote a part for him in his last opera "chronaca del Luogo.
The Sequenza "In Memory of the clown Grock" has always been one of Lindberg´s hits, and in Italy in May he will make a masterclass around this piece. He will also play a recital, as well as being part of the multimedia show at the opening ceremony.

In June 2024 year Lindberg passed the finish-line in Stockholm Marathon together with his 5 year old grandson joining him the last 30 meters as you can see on the picture above.
In 2025 Lindberg will run his 14th marathon, an activity that might be one of the reasons for his endless energy. His first race was back in 2001, and since then he has ran 12 times more in cities such as Berlin, Valencia, Vienna and Valencia, and is now ready for his 14th race.

Öregrund Music Festival will be visited by one of the worlds greatest opera stars, Barbara Bendricks. For the inauguration of Christian Lindberg´s new concert hall "CASAMAESTRO" she will be accompanied by no less than Roland Pöntinen.
After six years of preparation Christian Lindberg has finally made his dream come true: a concert hall 7 meters from the sea on his mansion Valudden. The program presented within the Öregrund Music Festival that Barbara and Roland will perfom will include music by Schubert, Liszt, Debussy and Bizet.

Last time Lindberg was in Canada was 2004 when he was soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Now he will be back in London Ontario performing at the International Trombone Festival.
The programan is not yet decided, but for sure there will be a full 90 minute recital at 5PM on the 18th of July with several guest artists. the list of the participating artists is still unofficial but will be announced closer to the actual festival.

Anki Svan´s career as a cabaret singer is a huge success. With a voice reminding of the late Monica Zetterlund and poetry like Jacque Brel her music has touched people from all genres and gender.
Artistic director Gregor Zubicky has already engaged Anki for a concert with his Swedish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Anja Bihlmaier, and now Lindberg is taking over the baton recording her songs orchestrated by Andrea Tarrodi.

Lindberg´s favorite country to perform has always been Japan, and now he is back for the 32nd time since his Tokyo debut in 1991.
There will be recitals in both Tokyo and Osaka, and more events are under negotiation in other cities in Japan.

Lindberg´s relationship with Düsseldorfer Symphoniker has been brilliant over the years. They have commissioned pieces from him, he has conducted Pictures at an Exhibition with them, Berio´s Chemin III, his own clarinet concerto, Sandström´s double concerto and much more.
This time Lindberg teams up with the solo trombonist in the orchestra, João Pereira de Abreu, in a double concerto commissioned by Tonhalle, Düsseldorf in collaboration with other orchestras. The concerts take place on 10th, 12th and 13 October 2025.
Time for the last of 17 symphonies (number 10) in Norrköping, but this time the program also includes Stravinsky´s amazing ballet music to Petrushka as well as Lisa Streich´s piece "Ishjärta".
It was in 2010 that Norrköping Symphony Orchestra abmarked on the ambitious project of recording all the 17 symphonies by Allan Pettersson. Prizes have been raining over the project that has been called "A historic milestone like Mahler by Bernstein" by the french music journal Resmusica.

In London with Philharmonia Orchestra Lindberg will perform his own trombone concerto Golden Eagle conducted by Santtu Matias Rouvali.
It will be the first time Lindberg works with the star conductor Santtu Matias Rouvali, and together they will perform Lindberg´s celebrated trombone concerto Golden Eagle. The piece was originally a commission from Taipei Symphony Orchestra and received it´s world premiere in 2014 in the beautiful Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Concert hall. The program will also include Shostakovich symphony no 5.

When music director of Santa Barbara Symphony Nir Kabaretti met Christian Lindberg briefly in Stockholm in 2024 Maestro Kabaretti proposed a commission of a concerto for two trombones primarily for Lindberg together with his solo trombonist, and together they discussed which composer would be best suited for this commission.
A number of names came up, and finally they arrived at the Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi, who kindly accepted despite a super busy schedule. The piece is a co commission between several orchestras, and this is the second world premiere of this piece, the first being with Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.

The collaboration between Christian Lindberg and the amazing musicians of the orchestra under the name of "Prince of Denmark" is continuing to be a success story, and in December 25 they end the year with some amazing Christmas concerts.
The orchestra consists of a concert band, an Ensemble of Brass and Percussion, a Brass Quintet, a Trombone Quartet, a percussion duo as well as a brass quartet with flugelhorn, two horns and euphonium. The ensemble has been a total success on the record label European Gramophone generating millions of streams on platform such as Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music and Qobuz.

The last of the symphonies of Pettersson to be recorded by Lindberg and Norrköping Symphony Orchestra.
It has taken 14 years to finish the amazing project of recording all Symphonies by Allan Pettersson. When Gramophone gave Lindberg and Norrköping Symphony "CRITIC´S CHOICE 2014" the critic said: "I can not think of any composer since Beethoven who so wholeheartedly has embraced the symphonic medium".

This was the first orchestra that Christian Lindberg was Music Director of 2004-2012. It was fantastic years when tey toured internationally and made several recordings for BIS Records.
The program will be part of a festival called "Trombonfrossa", a festival celebrating one wind instrument each year. This festival was the creation of Christian Lindberg during his directorship, and it has since featured great international artists, such as Radovan Vlatkovich and Claude Delangle.

Pettersson´s 8th symphony was a total knockout for Christian Lindberg, who conducted it first time from memory. This piece together with Tchaikovsky´s Romeo and Juliet is a total dream project for Lindberg.
On top of that Lindberg has generously agreed to accompany the new Stockholm Philharmonic member Jakob Nilsson in Launy Gröndahl´s trombone concerto! A new generation brilliant trombonists is something that Lindberg has been looking forwards to more than anyone else, and it is with great anticipation that he is looking forwards to this meeting with youth!

The chemistry between Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, the oldest orchestra in Latvia, and Christian Lindberg was right from first moment they worked together! They have so far released two Sibelius Symphonies as well as Weinberg´s trumpet concerto with Nakariakov on European Gramophone.
In 2026 the plan is to perform and record Nielsen´s fifth symphony as well as Schumann piano concerto with Roland Pönitnen as soloist.

This was one of the first orchestra Christian Lindberg worked with in Spain, and a combination of conducting weeks, commissions and soloist appearances has been many over the years.

Lindberg, Alessi and Bousfield received standing ovation in Sweden for their project "THREE MUTE TENORS" a triple concerto written by the amazing and versatile composer Per Egland

It has been a long and wonderful collaboration between Christian Lindberg and Nürnberger Symphoniker´s manager Lucius Hemmer. Lucius met Christian for the first time back in the 80:s when playing bassoon with Schleswig Holstein Festival.
He then gave Lindberg one of his very first engagements as conductor, and now he has been back every second or third year in several exciting programs. The program for his 50th anniversary as artist is still secret, but for sure you can expect something beyond spectacular!

Rikard Gateaux, general manager of Västerås Sinfonietta and Christian Lindberg have had a wonderful collaboration that goes back to when they both were working with Swedish Wind Ensemble back in 2004.
Together they arranged the tour to Spain in 2007, and in 2014 they performed together in Cadogan Hall in London. This program, part of Lindberg´s 50 year celebration as artist, is still secret, but for sure you can expect something beyond spectacular!
